Unfortunately I took almost zero photos in Hanoi... mostly because we had one hell of a weird experience there. Toni had to bravely deal with my airport/visa-on-arrival anxiety and by the time we actually landed in Hanoi we were both a little overwhelmed. We couchsurfed for the first two nights (above photo is from our bedroom) and got kicked out for the third because we weren't girlfriend material. We did do a lot of cultural things, like a 'water puppet show', the National Women's Museum and visiting Ho Chi Mihn's embalmed (since 1969) body - by the way, he looks better than we do. The Pho (soup) was incredible and the beer was SO good. But after the magic that was Luang Prabang, we weren't ready for the insane traffic/crowds/general intensity of the capitol city. We will definitely need to go back and try again on this one.
